This collection includes archived copies of Suffolk University Law School’s course catalogs and bulletins from 1919-1920 to present. For the current and previous years' catalogs, please consult Suffolk University’s Academic Catalogs page.
The catalogs, published annually, contain general information about the university, tuition and fees, degree requirements, university policy and procedures, course offerings, and the academic calendar for the school year.
Early versions of the academic catalogs contain course descriptions, faculty lists, and trustee lists and in addition to providing practical information to students, they strongly communicate the mission of the institution and the educational values of Gleason Archer. Because of this, some of the early law school catalogs function much like an admissions view book do today. As such, some of the early catalogs include sections such as, “Why Study Law” and “Education as an Investment.”
The University Archives is missing catalogs for: 1906-1918, 1921-1922, 1925-1926, 1929-1930, 1941-1942, 1944, 1952-1954, 1981-1982, 1997-1998, 2002-2006, and 2008-2018.
